Match Report Written by Adrian P

On a blustery wet day poole had a short but long journey to Brokenhurst With the shirts delayed we started in hoods but the umpire then decided that people were not allowed to be in Zips. It was going to be one of those days! The first 10 minutes some questionable decisions with allowed New Forest going one nil up. Poole then passed the ball around and Noa managed to get on to it and rifle a ball into the back of the net which the umpire then stopped the game and made the team put on the now arrived blue shirts because the zips were still dangerous. The game as very scrappy and even Adam got upset after being fouled from behind falling on the ball then promptly having the decision going against him for touching the ball. Half time came and captains were asked to not keep asking questions the signpost umpire was even advised by his own team to keep his arms down and calm down. Second half started in the rain and wind and some what where now becoming laughable (for those old enough think monty python referee sketch) decisions and arm movements Three players got a green for asking why when a player is cut in half after tackles nothing given. Chris was also told be be ready quicker for shorts at one point even though the umpire was not. Any way we managed to work a ball into the area where Adrian hit and made the game 2-1. With the game finishing and Sam getting cramp we now sit second on target for promotion

Result 2-1
goals. Noa and Adrian
Mom. Sam guest

Poole 3rds. 4 - 1 Swanage 3
Goal scorers
Sam Guest, Robin Lee, Anton Nichols
Adrian Potter
Man of the match Robin and Anton
Dod Ben Kimber. managed to floor an opposing player with an awful tackle then wasn't five when the free hit was taken.

First game back after Christmas break and a few new faces the game lacked communication. The Poole defence stood firm and swanage on really had. several counter attacks.

All in all we were able to maintain our heads and pass around their less youthful defence and score or get a short corner.

Other than joint man of the match Robin and Anton notable players were Martin, Mike Staples and Sam Guest who played well through the game

Poole m3 1-0 Gillingham m3!

So the rain held off and we knew we were up for a tough game as their ones had official agreement to cancel their game as they did not have enough (apparently 34 players is not enough for 3 teams!) Anyway. We started with our usual formation but they seemed to be working through it well and pressing us, but apparently blakie as an arse like their 3s! A masterclass in defending from our back 3 and keeper with the addition of perry made it tough for them to break through.

Halftime came and the more senior players had a little chat and agreed a formation change would fit better. So with a little shuffle we started the second half well with them unable to contain the newly looking midfield pairings and with some smash and grab work from 2 high forwards confused Gillingham. But again great defending from midfield and the backs Gillingham were getting frustrated and the only issue was Adam hitting Duncan with the ball. So my Dod moment come when I got a ball through from scott only to decide to kick it instead. But we did kept pressing and got a short corner which was push to top and a slip to Scott k (we decided we have been practising these for about 15 years) who then slotted it in the bottom of the net . We held on and with some nice football work from Ro after losing his stick we were down to 10 with about 3 to go but the drama did not stop there with Perry making a Perry tackle giving away a last minute short with the whistle blown the ball whistled past the post

Great tactical 1-0 win puts us back in promotion contention
