All children are welcome to come and try hockey. The first session is free and we can provide all of the equipment you need, just bring along a drink and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions!
Coaching
We run inclusive sessions that aim to develop hockey ability alongside fitness, hand-eye coordination and teamwork.
Children ages 5-12 are invited to join our junior coaching and children aged 13+ are invited to attend senior coaching.
Equipment
No equipment is required for your first session and we have plenty of sticks for newbies and occasional attendees.
For children attending regularly, in accordance with England Hockey regulations, it is strongly advised that children wear shin guards and mouthguards (gumshields) at all times during coaching and matches.
Supervision During Junior Hockey Sessions (ages 5 - 12)
Parents / guardians are responsible for getting their children safely to and from junior coaching and tournaments, both at home and away. Please ensure your child has used the toilet before arriving as they should not leave the pitch area during hockey sessions. Coaches are not permitted to take children to the toilet at any time.
Children attending junior hockey must be supervised by a parent / guardian whenever they are not on the playing surface. This includes before and after sessions and during any breaks.
Safeguarding
Poole Hockey Club takes the care and wellbeing of young people extremely seriously and complies with England Hockey Safeguarding Policies.
